Every question is written and reviewed against the new August 2026 ASWB content outline by licensed social workers — then rewritten when the outline changes. If an item is ambiguous, we cut it. That is why the bank is 1,184 questions and not 5,000.

Am I eligible to sit for the BSW exam?
Your state licensing board approves your application first — for the Bachelors level, that typically means a completed BSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program, with no post-degree experience required in most states. Once approved, you register with ASWB, pay the exam fee, and schedule your seat at a Pearson VUE test center.
How many questions are on the real exam?
As of August 3, 2026, the ASWB exams use a new format: 122 multiple-choice questions — 110 scored and 12 unscored pretest items you can't identify, so treat every question as if it counts — with 4 hours to complete them. More questions now use three answer options instead of four. Our mock set includes full-length mocks built for exactly this new format.
What score do I need to pass?
The exam is pass/fail. On the new format, the passing score generally falls between 66 and 78 correct of the 110 scored questions, varying with each exam form's difficulty. There's no fixed percentage — ASWB sets the standard per form.
What does the exam cover?
The new blueprint consolidates the old four content areas into three — Values and Ethics (now the highest-weighted area), Assessment and Planning, and Intervention and Practice — and our question bank uses those exact official names. The emphasis has shifted toward applied judgment: what a social worker should do first, next, or best.
How does this app help me pass?
